By admin | May 20, 2010

Philadelphia Flyers with 2-0 lead would try to take the series further away from Montreal Canadiens in Game 3 (7:00 pm ET, Versus) on Thursday at Bell Centre, Montreal Quebec, Canada. Canadiens need to win this game to get back in the wining groove.

Losing series is the next-closest thing but it is not an elimination game can be for the Canadiens. In the last round, from a 3-1 series deficit against Washington, Montreal has already engineered comebacks. In Game 2, Montreal played a far better game, which is a good thing for the team. The game although resulted in a 3-0 loss, which is bad for Canadiens. In front of red-hot goalie Michael Leighton, the Canadiens have yet to score a goal against Flyer team.

“It’s easy to stay composed when you are winning, We have to find a way to turn the tide and get some more scoring and we have to be more stingy defensively. Those things will make them more uncomfortable and we can take advantage of them that way”, said defenseman Hal Gill.

So far, in this series, for Philadelphia, Everything has gone right. In both games, their big guns, Danny Briere and Simon Gagne have scored. Team’s nine goals have come from seven players and the team is receiving depth scoring. Going 4-for-10 and scoring the game-winning goal in each game with the man advantage, Flyers has been deadly on the power play. Philadelphia in the penalty kill is a perfect 8-for-8.

“I think we are a defensive-minded team with, obviously, offensive capabilities. We take care of our own zone first and move up the ice. We put a lot of pressure. I think lately we have been throwing a lot at the net and we have gotten a couple of bounces here and there. I don’t know the reason for the outburst, but it’s definitely nice to have and it’s at a good time”, said Captain Mike Richards.

Oddsmakers from various NHL betting websites have made the Canadiens –125 money line favorites for Thursday’s game against the Flyers. Current NHL Public Betting Information shows that 67% of more than 935 bets for this game have been placed on the Flyers +113.
