The Canucks are -210-moneyline favorites and the over/under total at 5.5 in NHL Betting.

Vancouver has a slight edge over the past 10 head-to-head, going 6-4. This is the fifth meeting of the season.

Vancouver won 4-1 the last time the teams squared off on Boxing Day. The Canucks were a -215 home favorite in that game, and the score went under the total of 5.5.

The results of three previous meetings this season:

Nov. 28, Vancouver 7, Edmonton 3, in Vancouver

Oct. 25, Vancouver 2, Edmonton 0, in Vancouver

Oct. 19, Edmonton 2, Vancouver 1, in Edmonton

In their last game, the Canucks cruised past the goalie-challenged Pittsburgh Penguins, winning 6-2 at General Motors Place Saturday night. Vancouver won as a -150 home favorite while the final score played over the 5.5-goal total.

The defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins were forced to use their third- and fourth-string goaltenders in that game as both their starter and back-up were injured.

And Jeff Deslauriers stopped 28 shots in Edmonton’s 6-0 loss to Colorado on Monday night, the Oilers eighth-straight defeat. Colorado won as -175 home favorites, while the score went over the 5.5-goal total set by sportsbooks.

Edmonton is 16-27-5 while Vancouver is 28-18-2.

There is a strong Over trend, as five of Vancouver’s past seven on the road have gone over, and five of Edmonton’s last six overall have gone over.

Vancouver is 8-4 SU in its last 12 games. Edmonton is 1-11 SU in its last 12 games at home
